Puregas is committed to preventing harm to people and the environment. We follow guiding principles for environmental protection, including minimizing impact through sustainable standards, employee training, and continuous improvement. We focus on resource optimization, and waste reduction, and partnered with environmental stakeholders to align our operation and product with complying with environmental legislation and best practices. We strive to maximize product lifespan while minimizing ecological impacts by obtaining necessary licenses e.g. Air Emission license and Flammable Storage Permit.
At Puregas, SHEQ is embedded into our Operation System. Aiming for zero harm to ensure employees return home safely. We have implemented programs for monitoring and eliminating incidents, and risks & to ensure quality compliance. Our safe workplace protects our employees and contractors, reduces costs, and absenteeism, and increases productivity and turnover. We are committed to consistent product quality according to our customer specifications, and by not compromising health and safety. We continuously monitor our SHEQ objective and targets to improve our SHEQ system and foster a healthy working environment. We are certified SQAS-AFRICA, ensuring safe transportation of products and compliance with regulations and ISO9001:2015.
Process Safety Management (PSM)
Puregas is a major hazard implementation (MHI) site. We have partnered with a qualified AEI to continually monitor and ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act no. 85 of 1993 – Major hazard installation regulation. Our MHI risk assessment is implemented and continually monitored. A risk-based Process Safety Management (RBPSM) System is also a program that Puregas has implemented to enhance sustainable process safety performance. Process safety is a systematic framework for managing the integrity of hazardous processes. Process safety uses a blend of engineering, management, and leadership skills focused on preventing major accidents.
ISO 9001
Puregas is certified under ISO 9001:2015. Since November 1999, Puregas has successfully managed to maintain four different versions of the ISO 9001 standard consecutively.
